Jarvis Protein Processing Plant
Jarvis is a community of just over 2,000 people in the heart of Haldimand county; just a short drive from Simcoe, Port Dover and Hamilton. Perfect for a day trip, Haldimand county is full of charming small towns with unique attractions, quaint shops, cultural and historic sites, a selection of accommodations, restaurants and many spaces for outdoor activities.
Cargill’s Jarvis facility is a chicken hatchery employing 80 individuals and hatching nearly 150,000 chicks a day. Once hatched, the chicks go to local Southwestern Ontario farmers until they are fully grown and then on to Cargill’s London processing facility. Operational since 1986, Cargill’s facility in Jarvis continues to be a prominent employer and community supporter. Jarvis employees have a passion to serve, supporting various charities such as the Ronald McDonald House Charities through volunteer events and dinners at the house in Hamilton.
