Notice on Fraudulent Job Offers

What is Recruitment Fraud?

Recruitment fraud is a sophisticated scam offering fake job opportunities to job seekers. This type of fraud can be carried out through false websites, fake e-mails claiming to be from the company, or phony social media profiles. The fraudsters often request recipients to provide personal information and to make payments as part of their fake recruiting process.

For individuals in the United States, the following link may be useful in protecting yourself further: www.consumer.ftc.gov/articles/0243-job-scams. (Cargill is not responsible for the content of this site.) For individuals outside of the U.S., check with your local authorities for resources to report and/or for further protection.

We are aware that job postings may have been made by people who claim to be recruiters for Cargill, even using Cargill employee names, but who are not affiliated with Cargill. We have also been made aware that unauthorized individuals may have posed as Cargill recruiters, made contact about job opportunities, and extended job offers via text message, instant message or chat rooms. These job postings and offers are not authorized by Cargill. Cargill is not responsible for fraudulent offers or requests for personal information.

How to Protect Yourself from Recruitment Fraud

Positions posted on the Careers.Cargill.com site are legitimate.

Recruiters who ask candidates to submit unusual personal information like bank statements or utility bills, to pay a fee in order to be considered for a job, or to pay "start-up expenses" after being hired are not affiliated with Cargill. Cargill does not use private messaging tools such as Google Hangouts, Gmail, Facebook, Facebook Messenger, or other similar tools to extend job offers.

If you find a Cargill posting on a site other than our careers site, verify its legitimacy before applying by visiting our career site and searching for the requisition number.

If you believe you have been a victim of a fraudulent offer, please contact us. Thank you for your interest in working at Cargill.
