Job Purpose and Impact

The Demand Planner is responsible for developing, maintaining, and improving demand forecasts across products, channels, and locations. The role partners closely with Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, and Finance to ensure accurate forecasts that support inventory optimization, service levels, and business growth.

Key Accountabilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain statistical and consensus demand forecasts at SKU, category, and customer/channel levels.
  • Lead the monthly demand planning cycle, including forecast generation, review, and sign‑off.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, and Commercial teams to incorporate promotions, new launches, phase‑outs, and market intelligence into forecasts.
  • Analyse historical sales data, trends, seasonality, and forecast accuracy metrics (MAPE, Bias, Forecast Accuracy).
  • Identify demand risks and opportunities; proactively communicate gaps to stakeholders.
  • Support S&OP / IBP processes, providing demand scenarios and insights.
  • Work closely with Supply Planning to ensure alignment between demand and supply plans.
  • Drive continuous improvement in forecasting processes, tools, and assumptions.
  • Maintain master data relevance related to demand planning (SKUs, hierarchies, calendars).
  • Prepare and present demand insights to senior management.

  • Accurate rolling demand forecast (short, mid, and long term)
  • Monthly demand plan and variance analysis
  • Forecast accuracy and bias dashboards.
  • Inputs for inventory, capacity, and sourcing decisions

Skills & Competencies

  • Technical / Functional Skills
  • Demand forecasting and time‑series analysis.
  • S&OP / IBP knowledge
  • Advanced Excel (pivot tables, formulas, basic modelling)
  • Experience with planning tools (e.g., SAP APO/IBP)
  • Data analysis and visualization skills

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering along with MBA/BBA in Supply Chain planning.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Demand Planning. With overall 5 plus years of wxperience in Supply Chain Planning and Analytics
  • Excellent excel expertise.
  • Hands on experience in SAP and SAP IBP or forecasting tool
  • Animal nutrition and feed industry experience preferred
