Job Purpose and Impact

The Process Engineer will apply process and project engineering techniques to improve moderately complex manufacturing processes and products. In this role, you will provide technical support, operations experience, continuous improvement techniques and project management skills and be a contributing member of a team on moderately complex issues related to the operational domain area and you will also support day-to-day activities related to automation and smart manufacturing tools. You will provide guidance and oversight of external third parties that are utilized at the site and improve the stability, capability and availability of processes while reducing variability and mitigating risks in the operational area. You will enable the operational area working aligned with smart manufacturing strategies to achieve operating efficiency targets, while protecting our people, communities, the environment and assets and honor our business obligations.

Key Accountabilities

  • Collect and analyze moderately complex operational data and trends and develop recommendations and plans to improve the performance and reporting process of manufacturing equipment and processes and ensure consistent monitoring and early warning indicators.
  • Collaborate with maintenance leadership to plan and schedule maintenance of plant systems using reliability models and predictive technologies.
  • Collaborate with internal technology and finance operations stakeholders to monitor and manage variable and fixed costs at the site.
  • Plan and monitor production shutdowns ensuring legal and preventive maintenance compliance of manufacturing equipment.
  • Partner with process engineers to analyze capital expenditures and moderately complex project designs to find more efficient, cost effective approaches to promote higher quality and reliable outcomes.
  • Serve as point of contact and interface with third party personnel to set priorities, monitor safety and improve their skills over time.
  • Partner with relevant personnel from other departments within the site or across the business to benchmark practices and assist in the creation and development of automation and control strategies.
  • Coordinate and support automation and engineering standards in capital projects and Management of Change.
  • Independently solve moderately complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of two years of related work experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Six Sigma Certification
  • Experience with operations data and design programs and applications
  • Experience with process automation and digital control system, programming and control loop optimization.
  • Experience and skills leading moderately complex projects
  • Strong data analysis capabilities including continuous improvement experience or certifications

Position information:

  • Relocation will be provided for this position
  • Work schedule:Mon-Fri:8-5 occasional work on weekends
  • Position is based in Blooming Prairie, MN 

The expected salary for this position is $78K- $114K. Compensation varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to the specific location, certifications, education, and level of experience. The disclosed range estimate may be adjusted for any applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. This position is eligible for a discretionary incentive award. The incentive award amount is dependent upon company performance and your personal performance.
