This position is in Cargill’s food and bioindustrial business, where manufacturers, retailers, and foodservice companies rely on us to consistently deliver the products and services they need, and use our technical expertise and market knowledge to develop innovative products.
JOB PURPOSE AND IMPACT
The Shipping & Receiving Area Supervisor will provide strategic operational oversight for loading and unloading operations. This includes meeting all standards for safety, quality, operational effectiveness and financial performance while ensuring timely delivery of products in the proper container.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Execute routine operations of assigned area, ensuring direct reports are following policies and procedures related to employee, DOT and ITT compliance for shipping/receiving hazardous materials and meeting customer delivery dates.
- Partner with production supervisors to meet customer specifications and timeline.
- Respond timely to shipments for which insufficient lead time is given by marketing; order designated raw materials for the department and execute purchase orders and ensures timely payment of invoices.
- Develop operational plans and monitors routine loading for all shipping and receiving processes.
- Develop, supervise and provide coaching to direct reports including coaching company core values and guiding principles for assigned facilities or region.
- Oversee cycle counts of raw materials, intermediates, packaging and finished goods; investigates inventory discrepancies.
- Responsible for personnel decisions related to hiring, performance and disciplinary actions for your direct reports. You will also spend time completing the same tasks as employees on your team.

QUALIFICATIONS
MINIMUM
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
- Excellent leadership and communication skills and the ability to communicate with all levels in the plant
PREFERRED
- One year of supervisory experience
- Minimum of two years of experience in production and warehouse management
