Job Purpose and Impact

The Material Preparation Operator III will prepare the required material to run the different production lines by driving an industrial forklift or operating equipment to mix product batches under occasional guidance. In this role, you will ensure material handling and storage procedures are followed and will maximize throughput and produce quality product while following all food safety and regulatory policies. You will understand and adhere to all safety policies and procedures including lock in and out procedures and maintains safe and clean work environment.

Key Accountabilities

  • Operate a forklift to move irregular or bulky items such as pallets within production and warehouse areas and may load pallets into trucks.
  • Operate high lift material handling equipment, such as forklift or other Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) to load and unload from high stacks and racks.
  • Feed materials into machine adding hand measured or premeasured ingredients per specifications, operate and monitor medium cycle machine operations and make occasional basic adjustments to ensure product specifications are met.
  • Responsible for food safety and quality paper and electronic tracking, including tallying production quantities, marking goods and movement of goods to storage and recording manually and through computerized systems.
  • Monitor production lines, pull loads from lines on a timely basis, prepare and perform quality checks of wrapping and labels, collect product samples to settle adjustments and utilize computer systems to input and record data as required.
  • Operate other equipment such as electric or manual hand truck and scanning technology and enter records into computerized system.
  • Other duties as assigned
