Job Purpose and Impact
The oilseed processing facility in Footscray consists of seed receival and storage, preparation, extraction, tank storage, truck loading, and the necessary utilities and infrastructure.
The Maintenance & Reliability Supervisor is responsible for maintenance and reliability management for these operations based in Footscray. Activities include development, alignment & implementation of reliability programs; prevention, maintenance and repair; project planning, contractor management; leading practice application, training and support; and people management.
Key Accountabilities
- Lead and coordinate maintenance activities to maximise asset reliability, plant performance and operational uptime.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, partnering with reliability and operational teams to enhance maintenance strategies, equipment performance and plant competitiveness.
- Supervise, coach and develop maintenance personnel, including training, performance management and fostering a strong safety culture.
- Manage maintenance budgets, spare parts inventory, stores operations and procurement to optimise cost and plant availability.
- Analyse reliability data and equipment failures, conduct root cause investigations, and oversee maintenance projects from planning through to execution.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Chemical) or relevant Trades Background.
- Experience in maintenance and reliability within an industrial manufacturing environment, with exposure to people leadership preferred.
- Working knowledge of CMMS platforms (Maximo or SAP preferred) and the ability to create and manage work orders, notifications and maintenance records.
- Strong understanding of reliability methodologies including RCA, RCM, FMEA and predictive maintenance techniques.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with food manufacturing, food safety and hygienic engineering experience considering highly desirable.
