This position is in Cargill’s protein and salt business, where we provide wholesome, high-quality food products to a wide range of customers, from foodservice operators and grocery stores to manufacturers and exporters.
Job Purpose and Impact
The Workers Compensation Specialist, will conduct workers compensation and occupational benefits activities. In this role, you will monitor and track claims for the organization.
Key Accountabilities
- Using basic knowledge and training, coordinate activities between injured workers and plant personnel or third party administrators to ensure effective communication.
- With oversight and analysis, develop and document policies and procedures for workers compensation and occupational benefits in compliance with mandated programs.
- Oversee third party administrator claim management according to company special account instructions.
- Collaborate with our safety and health services to accurately report to the company's safety index.

- Handle basic issues and problems under direct supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
- Experience with email, word processing and spreadsheet applications
- Available to travel on at least a weekly basis to the surrounding cities to manage injured worker claims
- Have a valid driver's license in the state of Texas or the ability to obtain one.
Preferred Qualifications
Minimum of two years of related work experience

- This position is located in Friona, TX.
- Schedule of Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, some flexibility needed.
