R&D Director, South Asia Food
Job Purpose and Impact
The Research and Development Technical Services Director will lead, coach and develop a team to execute thebusiness plan that meets business goals. In this role, you will partner with Go-To-Market and category team, andmarketing team to identify and execute Innovation projects and lead, prioritize and report on the product portfolioand drive innovation process improvements and the supporting tools and metrics. You will represent R&D functionin the South Asia Food business.
Key Accountabilities
• Manage R&D budget and monitor R&D performance with set targets and metrics against business objectives.
• Lead the application center and ensure a safe working environment, food safety compliance, and a motivatedR&D team
• Manage and prioritize application development across categories and ensure that R&D projects areappropriately staffed.
• Develop strong customer relationships and innovation opportunities for strategic accounts with Go To Marketteam, and ensure customer satisfaction to technical solutions
• Collaborate with commercial leaders to support business growth in priority segmentation, and work withregional and global R&D to leverage and develop innovation capabilities and talents for the business
• You will develop plans and deliver results in a fast-changing business and/or regulatory environment whileleading and developing a team of experienced professionals, and making decisions for hiring, performance anddisciplinary actions.
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• Mininim Bachelor’s degree in a related field and equivalent experience
• Minimum of ten years of related work experience
• Other minimum qualifications may apply
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Fundamental understanding of functionality of food ingredients, such as edible oils, proteins, carbohydrates, infood system.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in technical services, applications or a similar discipline in B2B foodbusiness
• Experience leading a technical team with staff from multiple locations and disciplines
• Demonstrated ability to develop customer relationships and trust through technical knowledge and expertise
• Three years of supervisory experience
