Job Purpose and Impact

The Technology Application Specialist tests, verifies and interprets end to end data analysis (NIR)  Near Infrared Technology for plant operations/laboratory functionality and decision making in our factory in Halsa, Norway. This role is pivotal to bridge the gap between data collation, data accuracy, interpretation, and feedback loop provision to all wider business functions as an enabler to drive operational excellence. This role requires the balance of independent working with minimal supervision whilst demonstrating strong collaboration and influencing skills to various levels of leadership and cross functional teams daily.

Key Accountabilities

  • Keep the ownership of site NIR instruments to ensure accuracy of both raw material and finished goods are achieving specification, assess local analysis and sampling, analyze deviations of calibrations, identify, and provide the feedback loop to enable formulation and operations to make real time adjustments as required and retrospectively conduct trouble shooting to identify the deviation root cause.
  • Monitoring and ensuring all data reports from external/internal sources meet specifications and provide detailed reports and/or systematic extracts of quality/NIR data performance for key internal/external stakeholders, as and when required.
  • Support the implementation and installation of equipment, sampling, calibrations, and testing and follow up of the project until the stable working situation is achieved.
  • Ensure governance and conduct audits to a pre-determined schedule ensuring instrument and process accuracy is maintained. Reporting and troubleshooting any non-compliance related issues and involving site engineering or 3rd party support where required and sharing feedback and actively support to improve the existing platform.
  • Participating in the development of new/existing instrument models, working with key members of both Global/Regional NIR teams and R&D facilities.
  • Actively support the creation of guidelines, procedures and instructions, governance, develop and provide training to all team members, ensuring competency in operation.
  • Perform diagnostics assessments ensure working order is maintained. Ensure upkeep of annual service contracts are in place and up to date. 
  • Keep all best practices up to date, inform the locations of the needed changes and provide detailed descriptions of implementation flows at the plant.
  • Independently solve moderately complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • Proficient in English and Norwegian language
  • Experience with IT and Office suite (Excel, PPT)
  • Proven related work experience

    Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in an applied science field.
  • Previous technical/lab experience desirable, but not essential.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership and influencing skills.
  • Ambitious and hardworking.
  • Confident, self-motivated with a willingness to learn.
  • Experience with Near-Infrared (NIR) technology.
