Compensation:$44.30/hr
Required Certification
- Valid Canadian Journeyman certification as a Heavy Duty Equipment Technician, Automotive Service Technician, or recognized equivalent
Principal accountabilities
- Respond to radio calls and troubleshoot mechanical breakdowns on production and mobile equipment
- Perform daily preventive maintenance (PMs) and corrective repairs to ensure reliable plant operations
- Complete work orders accurately and in a timely manner
- Follow all site safety procedures, including lockout/tagout, to prevent injury and equipment damage
- Adhere to food safety standards by maintaining clean tools, equipment, and work areas in accordance with HACCP and GMP requirements
- Remain aware of surroundings and operating conditions to support a safe work environment
Required Qualifications
- Must be legally entitled to work for Cargill in Canada
- Cargill requires that employees be a minimum of 18 years old
- Journeyman certification as a Heavy Duty Equipment Technician, Automotive Service Technician, or equivalent recognized in Canada
- Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting up to 50 lbs, climbing, bending, and working in confined or elevated spaces
- Ability to work various schedules, including nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as required
- Comfortable working in industrial environments with exposure to heat, cold, and machinery
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
Preferred Qualifications
- Aerial platform and/or forklift certification
- Experience maintaining electric and propane powered mobile equipment
- General multi trade maintenance skills (welding, pipefitting, fabrication, rigging, hydraulics, pneumatics)
- Previous experience in a food manufacturing or industrial production environment
