Job Purpose and Impact

The CapEx Senior Buyer will contribute to large-scale construction build sourcing projects for North America and will actively contribute to the build and execution plans of  Cargill’s ongoing capital project strategy. In this role, you will strategically manage regional business stakeholders and key supplier relationships. Join us to utilize your expertise for contractor sourcing, while collaborating with industry-leading professionals on essential manufacturing facility build projects.

Key Accountabilities

  • Partner with capital project management teams to set strategy, budgets, and outline resources. Execute on the procurement of contractor services needed in build construction of large-scale manufacturing facilities.
  • Lead buying projects of medium and full rigor ensuring project timelines are met. Utilize tools to interpret data, manage organization, presentation, and budget tracking.
  • Build strong relationships with key suppliers and business stakeholders. Ensure strong cross-functional communication.
  • Compile and analyze statistical data to resolve feasibility of buying products and establish price objectives.
  • Provide technical expertise in regional spend, stakeholder and procurement landscape.
  • Draft and negotiate contracts with suppliers and analyze supplier operations to resolve factors that affect prices and the lowest cost, consistent with quality, reliability and ability to meet required schedules.
  • Drive the implementation of cross regional sourcing tools.
  • Lead category strategies
  • Independently handle complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating only the most complex issues to appropriate staff.
  • Other duties as assigned

This position is preferred to work from a Cargill office in Wichita, KS or Wayzata, MN .  However, a remote home-office location could be arranged to be located within the United States.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of four years of related work experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in construction contractor sourcing and contracting
  • Knowledge of contracting strategies
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite
  • Experience with SAP, GEP or other ERP systems for spend data validation

Compensation Data

The expected salary for this position is $86,000-$125,000. Compensation varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to the specific location, certifications, education, and level of experience. The disclosed range estimate may be adjusted for any applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. This position is eligible for a discretionary incentive award. The incentive award amount is dependent upon company performance and your personal performance.
