This position is in Cargill’s food and bioindustrial business, where manufacturers, retailers, and foodservice companies rely on us to consistently deliver the products and services they need, and use our technical expertise and market knowledge to develop innovative products.
Job Purpose and Impact
The Retail Senior Technician will support the food safety, quality, and operational teams by coordinating process initiatives, training operations staff, auditing processes, and developing expertise in food safety protocols and computer systems. In this role, you will also assist in food safety and regulatory audits, mock retrievals, coordinate incident management for retail, initiatives, and follow-up.
Key Accountabilities
- Keep laboratory supplies ready by inventorying stock, placing orders and verifying receipt.
- Assist with the evaluation and interpretation of highly complex data, identify problems with atypical test results and consult with senior level personnel.
- Examining and evaluate data and select corrective steps.
- Support trials and experiments under the direction of more senior team members.
- Handle complex clerical, administrative, technical or customer support issues under minimal supervision, while escalating only the most complex issues to appropriate staff.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma, secondary education level or equivalent.
- Minimum of four years of related work experience.
- Strong knowledge of technical writing.
- Strong level of competence with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and own a personal vehicle.
- Must be willing to travel between locations as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in chemistry, food science, or related discipline
- Three or more years of experience within a laboratory or food manufacturing environment.
