This position is in Cargill’s agricultural supply chain business. We sit at the heart of the supply chain, partnering with farmers and customers to source, make and deliver essential products.

Job Purpose and Impact

The Capital Project Supervisor will be responsible for all Capital projects executed on site up to $10 Million in individual value. In this role you will plan, coordinate and monitor a portfolio of projects from initiation through completion to be executed by you and others. You will coach and develop others on site who are executing Capital projects. In this role you will coordinate and direct activities of fixed duration to ensure that the goals or objectives are accomplished within the determined timeframe and budget.

Key Accountabilities

  • Facilitate and maintain a Capital portfolio of agricultural manufacturing projects for the site, monitoring progress and resolving issues to meet productivity, quality and client-satisfaction goals and objectives.
  • Own Project Engineering activities, often with the aid of 3rd Party engineering firms, and be responsible for the development, optimization and execution of project designs.
  • Manage internal stakeholders, vendors and contractors to develop, progress, optimize and monitor project safety, scopes, budgets and schedules to meet business objectives. Prepare status reports and asses for risks to keep internal stakeholders informed of progress.
  • Develop plans for and execute Construction Management and Safety oversight with minimal external support, integrate construction schedules and direct a variety of contractor trades on day to day construction efforts based on prepared construction drawings.
  • Coordinate the operational aspects of projects to ensure technical and operational readiness through Commissioning and Start-Up until Handover to site teams.
  • Drive and support integration of, and adherence to, corporate and legal requirements in the design and construction of new facilities, processes, equipment, and utilities.
  • Collaborate with regional domain leads for domain specific expertise support in build projects.
  • Independently handle complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating only the most complex issues to appropriate staff.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • Minimum requirement of 4 years of relevant work experience. Typically reflects 5 years or more of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in operations with challenging environmental health and safety aspects.
  • Have or are able to quickly develop knowledge within the Oilseeds and/or Biodiesel Industries.
  • Experience managing third party resources to deliver business results.
  • Knowledge of the company's environmental health and safety standards and international standards and codes related to build projects and construction safety.
