Job Purpose and Impact

The Boiler Operator III will operate boilers to generate steam for building and production processes using in-depth knowledge, under occasional guidance and assisting others. In this role, you will be responsible for observing pressure, temperature and draft meters across the facility.

Key Accountabilities

  • Monitor boiler operation (pressure, temperature and draft meters), including chemistry on water, safety checks and coordination of maintenance activities including logouts tag outs and logouts tag outs and preventative maintenance completion with minimal guidance.
  • Record and document maintenance and other boiler related activities.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose complex mechanical problems and provide follow up as required.
  • Perform daily, weekly and monthly boiler operation checklist with occasional guidance.
  • Complete regular preventative boiler maintenance checks with little to no guidance.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be legally entitled to work for Cargill in Canada 
  • Must be 18 years or older  
  • Must possess, and retain, a Class 2 or 3 Power Engineering certificate  
  • Ability to understand and communicate in English (verbal/written) 
  • Ability to perform physical job duties which may include bending, lifting up to 50lbs, kneeling, climbing, crawling, and twisting safely, with or without a reasonable accommodation
  • Must be able to ascend and descend stairs, ladders, etc., to work in elevated areas of the plant, and must be able to work in confined spaces  
  • Ability to work in varied indoor and outdoor conditions which may include heat, cold, dust, loud noise, etc., with the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) including a respirator 
  • Ability to work overtime including weekends and holidays with advance notice 
  • Possess a valid, full Canadian Driver’s Licence in good standing, authorizing you to drive independently during the course of your employment  
  • Basic use of a computer  

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum two years of directly related work experience 
  • Knowledge of related tools, processes controls and area technology systems 
  • Experience working with an enterprise resource planning platform, such as SAP 
  • Experience operating wastewater treatment processes
  • Experience with co-generation facilities     

This Full Time position is located in Regina, SK, ON; however please expect receiving calls from a 204 area code in case you are considered.  Training will be provided at one of our current facilities in Clavet, SK or Camrose, AB.
