This position is in Cargill’s protein and salt business, where we provide wholesome, high-quality food products to a wide range of customers, from foodservice operators and grocery stores to manufacturers and exporters.
Job Type: Hourly
Shift:5:45 pm – 5:45 am / 4 on 4 off 12 hours shift
Compensation: $29 with a shift differential of $0.50

Principal Accountabilities:
• Responsible for the operation and inspections of forklift and unloading dock related equipment
• Operator care and preventative maintenance of packaging and palletizer equipment not covered by maintenance team
• Must learn and apply all applicable Standard Operating Procedures related to Safety, FSQR and Processing
• Responsible to perform and document completion of assigned Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS) tasks
• Comply to company’s Good Manufacturing Practices at all times
• Know and understand finished product names and characteristics
• Clean, organize, and maintain work areas
• Constructively communicate with coworkers, customers, vendors, and contractors
• Perform tasks in a safe manner that will prevent injury to self and others
• Performs work in a cooperative, courteous, and efficient manner
• Must learn and perform applicable SAP and MII functions
• Must understand and abide by ST. Clair Union Contract and Employee Production Handbook
• Performs other related duties assigned by supervision, management, and lead Persons
Requirements:
• Right to work in the U.S. that is not based solely on possession of a student visa or a visa sponsored by a third-party employer
• Cargill requires employees be a minimum of 18 years old to work in a production facility
• Ability to work in elevated areas (4 feet and above)
• Ability to perform physical job duties which may include bending, lifting up to 50lbs, kneeling, climbing, crawling, and twisting safely, with or without a reasonable accommodation
• Ability to work in varied indoor and outdoor conditions which may include heat, cold, dust, etc., with the use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
• Must be able to operate machinery and/or industrial equipment
• Ability to understand and communicate in English(verbal/written)
• High School diploma or Equivalent
• Basic use of a computer
• Ability to work overtime including weekends, holidays, or different shifts with advance notice
Preferred:
- Prior experience in production related work.
- Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS), such as SAP
