This position is in Cargill’s food and bioindustrial business, where manufacturers, retailers, and foodservice companies rely on us to consistently deliver the products and services they need, and use our technical expertise and market knowledge to develop innovative products.
Job Purpose and Impact
We are seeking a Senior Trader to lead the strategy for our Trading and Risk Management division. This role will be responsible for developing and executing the origination and sales plan for vegetable oils, while also overseeing the design and implementation of our risk management strategy.

Key Accountabilities
- Leverage expertise in trading practices to develop and execute long-term strategies and trades.
- Monitor risk trading positions and assess profit and loss performance on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
- Independently manage and oversee significant trading positions and exposures.
- Collaborate with strategic brokers, suppliers, clients, and internal stakeholders to effectively manage and monitor risk trading activities.
- Execute futures and options positions to manage risk, while providing strategic guidance to Merchants in the origination of vegetable oils.
- Maintain and update Supply & Demand (S&D) data, working closely with other trading desks and departments to ensure informed decision making.
- Mentor and provide training to junior team members, promoting Cargill’s core values and fostering professional development.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience
- Previous and strong experience with agricultural commodities trading
- Mandatory fluent English
