This position is in Cargill’s food and bioindustrial business, where manufacturers, retailers, and foodservice companies rely on us to consistently deliver the products and services they need, and use our technical expertise and market knowledge to develop innovative products.
Job Purpose and Impact
This is a high-profile role with significant opportunity to integrate with the leadership of both Cargill and customers. The role allows for hands on experience in growing a total business including futures/options trading, risk
management, product development, sales, marketing, strategic pricing and PnL responsibility. Success in the role would meet the requirements of a significant risk management experience.
Key Accountabilities
The position has three core responsibilities focused predominantly on Food customers of Cargill’s Food & Bio business (CFB) whilst also supporting the broader Cargill PRS team:
- Trading - Executing risk management strategies to hedge pricing agreements with selected customers including market insights and trading of futures, options and customized OTC derivatives
- Sales - Direct contact with customer by prospecting and selling to CFB Food customers from our current Price Risk Solutions portfolio
- Commercial - Business development of Price Risk Solutions focused on strengthening partnerships with customers and growing long term sales and revenues while positioning Cargill as a leader and trusted partner in the industry
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum of five years of related work experience
- Bachelor degree in a relevant subject area or relevant work experience in place of a degree
- Risk management or trading or cash commodity management
- Futures, options and advanced derivatives known
- Fluency in English - other European languages advantageous
Preferred Qualifications
- Customer focus and conceptual grasp of the different risk profiles our customers may experience
- Ability to manage complexity and deal with ambiguity
- Demonstrated ability of working within a multi-cultural and diverse team over distance as well as leading change and creating collaborative work environments
- Self-starting, entrepreneurial skills set and related proven track record
- Strong sense of teamwork and ability to train/ coach and develop others
- Consultative selling, negotiation and influencing skills
- Product knowledge of the various components of possible customer solutions for food manufacturers, industrial customers, and producers
- There will be travel of up to 20% in the position.
