This position is in Cargill’s protein and salt business, where we provide wholesome, high-quality food products to a wide range of customers, from foodservice operators and grocery stores to manufacturers and exporters.

Cargill Salt, a business unit of Cargill, Incorporated, is a leader in the industry, providing salt, service and solutions to the food, water conditioning, agricultural, industrial, and packaged ice control markets.
This role is responsible for correctly, safely and efficiently packaging and warehousing salt products for a salt packaging facility.


Job type: Full time 
Shift available: 2nd
Compensation: $20.00/hr

Principal Accountabilities

  • Optimize drying including loader break relief
  • Mobile equipment operation including forklifts for van truck and flat bed loading 
  • Perform building housekeeping tasks
  • Collect samples, quality testing and product storage
  • Coordinate hauling of trash salt/recycle bales
  • Use of a computer systems to monitor equipment and data entry
  • Setup and packaging equipment operation

Required Qualifications

  • Must be eligible to work in the US without visa sponsorship
  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • Ability to perform physical job duties which may include  shoveling, lifting up to 50lbs, kneeling, climbing, crawling, and twisting, with or without a reasonable accommodation
  • Ability to work in varied indoor and outdoor conditions, which may include heat, cold, dust, loud noise, etc., with the use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Ability to work in elevated areas (4 feet and above)
  • High school diploma/GED or a minimum of two years equivalent work experience 
  • Basic use of a computer
  • Ability to work overtime, including weekends, holidays, or different shifts with advance notice


Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in manufacturing and/or production-related work
  • Forklift  experience 
  • Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS), such as SAP and/or HMI
  • Experience operating and troubleshooting industrial equipment (ex., packaging machinery, etc.)
  • Ability to understand and communicate in English and Spanish (verbally and writing)
