Job Purpose and Impact

Cargill’s North American Engineering Discipline Center is a team of Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) that help drive standardization and value in Capital Execution across a multi-billion project portfolio.  As the NA Electrical Discipline Lead, you will help develop, maintain, improve, and benchmark Cargill’s Regional Engineering Standards in collaboration with the Global Reliability Excellence and Engineering team.

Key Accountabilities

  • Responsible for the regional electrical standards development in alignment with regulatory and Cargill functional/business requirements including items such as but not limited to low voltage and high voltage switchgear, electrical distribution systems, drive applications and electrical safety systems. 
  • Ensure continuous improvement and compliance of standards. 
  • Lead the development and improvement of metrics, reporting mechanisms and processes to ensure effective performance, compliance and asset integrity of electrical solutions to meet business needs
  • Support the development and governance of the regional electrical technical strategy, sourcing strategy and roadmap aligned to business requirements to achieve high maturity of Autonomous Operations.
  • Collaborate, coordinate and promote electrical engineering programs and policies regionally.
  • Lead the development of regional and support global service level agreements for electrical engineering and equipment to meet business requirements.
  • Provide electrical engineering support required for normal operations.
  • Oversee advanced support for electrical engineering deliverables in capital projects.
  • Provide expert thought leadership in your field and work with limited direction, using additional research and interpretation to identify issues or problems. You may provide direction to supporting team members and be a strategic contributor.
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
  • Minimum of six years of related work experience
  • Ability to travel 30% of the time

    Preferred Qualifications

    • A minimum of 15 years of related work experience
    • Professional Engineering License
    • Experience with Process Industry Practices (PIP)
    • Strong knowledge of IEEE, NEC, and NEMA codes and standards
    • Experience with Electrical Power Systems
    • Strong knowledge in plant operations related to Electrical systems with specific knowledge and experience in medium and low voltage electrical systems.
    • Frequent interaction with senior internal and external personnel often requiring coordination between departments.
    • Technical gap assessment and solution identification
    • Ability to work in a remote environment with virtual teams
    • Ability to translate highly technical information across all levels of technical knowledge

    Compensation Data

    The expected salary for this position is $150K - $170K+. Compensation varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to the specific location, certifications, education, and level of experience. The disclosed range estimate may be adjusted for any applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. This position is eligible for a discretionary incentive award. The incentive award amount is dependent upon company performance and your personal performance.
