Job Purpose and Impact
The Buyer, Ingredients and Chemicals will support North America sourcing activities. In this role, you will execute complex procurement tasks to provide inputs to the global category team. You will vet new suppliers and identify new sources of ingredients finding the right match for Cargill and our customer’s need.
Key Accountabilities
- Partner cross-functionally with business managers, marketing and culinary teams influencing with strong communication and partnership abilities
- Build and apply a comprehensive understanding of regional spend, stakeholder landscape, and the procurement landscape
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, remove redundancies and find opportunities to add value
- Drive or support supplier negotiations of contacts and pricing
- Execute medium and highly complex sourcing events.
- Influence the implementation of regional sourcing decisions and provide support with the implementation of global sourcing decisions.
- Provide inputs to the global category team for category strategy development and execution.
- Monitor continuous regional supplier and stakeholder relationships.
- Follow established procedures to select suppliers for procurement of noncontracted materials, goods, services and supplies.
- Independently solve moderately complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff.

Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience
- Minimum of two years of related work experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Demonstrated contract negotiation skills
- Ability to develop and deliver presentations as the lead presenter
- Proficiency in Microsoft Power Point and Excel
