This position is in Cargill’s food and bioindustrial business, where manufacturers, retailers, and foodservice companies rely on us to consistently deliver the products and services they need, and use our technical expertise and market knowledge to develop innovative products.
Job Purpose and Impact
This role is split in 70% production scheduling activities, 20% customer service activities and 10% key account activities.
In the role of production scheduler, you will plan, prepare, issue and control production schedules and direct material requirements to ensure a controlled flow of goods and materials to meet production requirements. This is for bulk and packed business. In this role, you will participate in production planning and execution, customer and client interaction, business partnership, systems and data management and reporting and analysis. In the role of customer service, you will support a full scale of highly complex customer service activities for a site. In this role, you will proactively maintain an ongoing relationship with strategic customers, provide pricing, availability and schedule information, independently resolve complex issues and review and create moderately complex reports for analytics. In the role of key account execution, you will help to build and maintain the company’s relations with strategic accounts to generate future sales of products. In all, expectation is to independently solve moderately complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate management.
Key Accountabilities
Scheduling
- Create and publish daily production plans.
- Expedite workflow and coordinate changes in schedules.
- Participate in setting master production planning, material requirements planning and production scheduling metrics targets.
- Provide necessary input to supply planner for assigned product or location.
- Maintain data relevant to production scheduling activities including planning calendars, material data and location data.
- Other duties as assigned.
Customer service
- Develop and maintain systems and strategic relationships that meet customer demand forecast, as well as other databases related to shipments and inventory management.
- Use thorough knowledge of complex customer service practices and procedures to independently validate and execute customer service strategies.
- Advice customers about order status, invoices, contract balances.
- Be a key member on improvement projects and commitments requiring a comprehensive understanding of customer service practices and procedures.
Key account execution
- With guidance, help identify, develop and close new sales.
- Monitor customer and competitor activity and industry trends.
- Coordinate market research, pricing and sales and merchandising activities.
Qualifications
Minimum qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience
- Minimum of two years of related work experience
- Demonstration of high level product and process knowledge
Preferred qualifications
- Three years of experience with at least one in master production planning, production scheduling or supply planning
